To ensure the safety of our community, we review all profile pages before accepting new member requests.
To ensure your request is approved quickly, please:
- Answer the membership questions.
- Accept the group rules.
- Please make sure your privacy settings are lowered so we can check that you are a real person (we review things like the number of friends, age of facebook profile, engagement on posts, location).
Your membership request will also be declined if:
- Business Page: You're asking to join from a Business Page. Our group does not allow Pages to join. You must switch to your main profile to join and interact with our group.
- New Account: Your Facebook account has only been created within the last 12 months
- You are not a North Shore Mum: To join our closed group, you must be a local mum who lives, works or plays on Sydney's North Shore! If you advertise with us and want to take advantage of Business Hour, you are welcome to get an employee, colleague, friend or family member to post on your behalf.
- You are a Spammer, Scammer, Bot or AI: If we cannot quickly determine that you are a "real" person from your profile page, you will be declined.
We have strict entry requirements to ensure our online community remains a safe environment for our members.
How can I join the North Shore Mums Facebook group?

- Join Group: Click Join Group
- A 'pop-up' will appear that says, 'Answer Questions: Your membership is pending approval. Answer these questions from the group admins to help them review your request to join. Only the admins and moderators will see your answers.'
- You MUST include answers to all three questions.
- If you don't want to subscribe to our weekly newsletter, write 'no thanks' (don't leave it blank, or it will be automatically declined)
- Group Rules: You MUST check the box to agree to the Group Rules
If your request to join was declined, you must go through the whole process again. You may need to click 'Cancel Request' in order to join again.

If you have done all the steps above, the North Shore Mums Team cannot resolve this for you. It is likely to be a temporary glitch with the Facebook platform.
