My request to join your Facebook group was rejected. Why?

To ensure the safety of our community, we review all profiles before accepting new member requests.

To ensure your request is approved quickly, please:

  • Answer all membership questions (any questions left blank will be automatically declined).
  • Accept the group rules.
  • Please make sure your privacy settings are lowered so we can verify that you are a real person (we review things like the number of friends, age of your Facebook profile, engagement on posts, and location).

Your membership request will be declined if:

  • Business Page: You're asking to join from a Business Page. Our group does not allow Pages to join. You'll need to switch to your personal profile to join and interact with our group.
  • New or inactive account: Your Facebook account was created recently and has little to no activity. Active, established profiles help us maintain a safe community.
  • You are not a North Shore Mum: To join our closed group, you must be a local mum who lives, works or plays on Sydney's North Shore.
  • We can't verify your account is genuine: If your profile shows signs of being a spam account, bot, or AI-generated profile, your request will be declined.

How can I join the North Shore Mums Facebook group?

    If you're a mum or mum-to-be living on Sydney's North Shore, you're welcome to join our online community.
    • Join Group: Click Join Group in the North Shore Mums Facebook group.
    • A 'pop-up' will appear that says, 'Answer Questions: Your membership is pending approval. Answer these questions from the group admins to help them review your request to join. Only the admins and moderators will see your answers.'
    • You MUST answer all three questions:
      • What suburb do you live in & what stage of parenting are you at?
      • Enter your email address if you’d like to receive our weekly e-newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time if it's not for you. Write "no thanks" if you don't want to be added.
      • Do you agree to the group rules from the admin? You MUST check the box to agree to the Group Rules
    If your request to join was declined, you will need to go through the process again.
    You may need to click 'Cancel Request' to join again.

    Still having issues joining the Facebook group?

    If you have done all the steps above, it is likely a temporary glitch with the Facebook platform.
     
    Try using a different browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) or a different device (laptop, tablet, mobile) again.
