How can I promote my event?

We have a range of ways that you can promote your event to North Shore Mums - both free and paid options!

List your event in our What's On section

Free Event Listing

If your event is aimed at Sydney families, children, or North Shore Mums, and naturally fits into one of the categories, you are welcome to add it to our Events section. All events are listed in the appropriate category, in date order (so events happening soonest will be on the first page).

Featured Event Listing

Want better exposure? To help your event stand out from all the other listings, list it as a Featured event for just $99 ($90 + GST).

Why it’s worth upgrading to Featured Status:

  • Prime position in What’s On | Your event listing will be at the top of the category (and most likely on Page #1, depending on how many other featured events are listed). This ensures your event is seen for many weeks before the big day(s), helping you get it into local mums’ diaries.
  • More visibility | You can list in up to 3 categories (not just 1).
  • More photos | You can bring your listing to life with up to 5 images (rather than 1).
  • Longer event description | You have up to 5000 characters to describe your event (not 2000 characters).
  • Video | Bring your event to life by embedding a YouTube or Vimeo video.
  • Share your event with the 42,000+ mums in our Facebook group | Once your event is published in the What’s On section (this happens instantly), Featured Event listing owners are invited to share the event in the North Shore Mums Facebook group. You can only do this if you include the link to the event in the North Shore Mums What’s On section. If you’re not a member of our Facebook group, you can have a friend, sister, wife, or colleague post on your behalf.

Cost

  • Featured Event Listing: $99 for max. 3 months
  • Annual Featured Event listing: $299 for max. 12 months. This is ideal if your event is more than 3 months away, or is a recurring event (e.g. a monthly market, a live show in 3-12 months but you are selling tickets now)

Terms & Conditions

  • We don’t approve listings for regular classes, weekly sessions, and term-based courses. If you run classes & activities, you can advertise your business in the North Shore Mums Directory.
  • Your event listing will automatically be removed from the website once the event has finished. To get the best value from the event listing, add your event as soon as the details are confirmed.
  • If you advertise with North Shore Mums, you are welcome to list 3 free events per month.
  • If you do not advertise with North Shore Mums, you may submit one free event per month.
  • All event listings are reviewed before they are published on the website.

Can I promote my event in your Facebook group?

If you have a Featured Event listing OR your event is for a charity or a not-for-profit organisation, you are welcome to share a post with our Facebook group. Simply:

If you're not a Facebook group member, you can get a friend, sister, wife or colleague to post on your behalf.

This can be done at any time and is not restricted to Business Hour.

Advertise: Newsletter & Facebook Packages

Ensure our readers know about your event by advertising it on our weekly e-newsletter & Facebook followers. You can even add on a discounted Featured What’s On listing! 

Premium Newsletter & Facebook Package

  • Weekly E-newsletter (10,000 subscribers): One spot in the Bulletin Board of one Weekly E-newsletter
  • Facebook page (36,000 followers): One post on our Facebook page, boosted to a minimum 3000 views
  • Facebook group (42,000 members): One 24-hour pinned post in the Announcements section of our Facebook group
  • Cost: $350+gst

Advertise: Event Advertorial

There’s no better way of promoting an event than with our Event Advertorial Package. Families on the North Shore represent Sydney’s biggest group of ticket buyers, so whether your event is family-friendly or just for adults, you’ll find your audience on the North Shore Mums network.

You’ll provide us with the key information and images for the advertorial, and our talented writers will create a click-worthy article that showcases it to local parents, all written in the North Shore Mums tone of voice. Examples:

Event Advertorial Package includes:

  • Advertorial – 800-word article written by our journalists, which showcases your event. This advertorial is promoted across the North Shore Mums platform, including:
    • E-newsletter – ad in the top section of our weekly newsletter (sent Thursday nights)
    • Facebook page – post on North Shore Mums Facebook page, boosted to reach 5000 people in the relevant demographic
